What is the difference between 600mah and 700mah

It's only when you look at an ant through a magnifying glass on a sunny day that you realise how often they burst into flames. Also, in terms of how many times you can recharge it, the mAh makes no difference. The only reason you'd need a higher mAh is if you need the cordless phones to spend more time out of the charger. But a cheap mAh may have memory issues and not allow you to recharge it as many times.

I think that's what I ran into here - a cheap replacement. I'll have to shop around for a decent replacement this time. The cheep batteries probably do not perform as well under load. As current increases V drops, so they may supply 3.

Any batteries V output drops as it discharges. What you want is a relatively constant V, that drops suddenly when the mAh is reached, what the cheep battery likly provides is V that drops steadily over time.

So the answer is the mah will work if the battery has the same battery number which equates to same voltage, battery physical size, and plug type and will provide more talk time than your old mah battery.

Generally, the NiMH rechargeable batteries rarely leak, unlike alkaline batteries. By this logic, nickel-metal hydride batteries may explode. The principle of explosion is that the air pressure inside an object becomes too large, so the container cannot be contained. Rechargeable alkaline batteries are manufactured fully charged and have the ability to hold their charge for years, longer than NiCd and NiMH batteries, which self-discharge.

Rechargeable alkaline batteries can have a high recharging efficiency and have less environmental impact than disposable cells. The batteries with higher amp hours deliver more power and more performance, allowing the battery to work for a longer time on a full charge as compared to the cells with lower amp hours.

Smartphones with mAh battery Now, if your usage involves a fair amount of gaming, using navigation and the likes, a smartphone with a 4,mAh battery is what you need. A 4,mAh battery on a smartphone will ensure the phone should last well over a day depending on how heavily you use it.

Excessive overcharging of a NiMH cell can result in permanent loss in capacity and cycle life. If a cell is overcharged to the point at which pressure begins to build up, elevated temperatures are experienced and can cause the separator to lose electrolyte. High capacity rechargeable batteries generally need a higher current to recharge them. With the solar light-producing such a low charge current it is better to use relatively low capacity solar light batteries. This means the sensor in the light isn't working.

We would recommend cleaning the mini solar panel as they often get covered in layer of dirt. If the panel is dirty the solar light circuit board will act as though it is dark or night time all the time, therefore sending the power from the battery to the LED during the day and night!

New batteries cannot cause this particular issue; the batteries simply power the LED. In fact, if your lights are lighting up all the time this shows the batteries are actually working ok.

You can use an ordinary non-rechargeable battery to test the LED in the solar lights work as described earlier. We hope this information has helped.

If you have any other questions, please contact a member of the team who will be happy to help. What to do if your solar lights stop working?

Why do I need to replace my solar light batteries? I was wondering, when might the batteries voltage begin to drop from 3.

After constantly being used for a month straight, will it then begin to drop? Can I use the newer mAh AA batteries in this charger? BatteryStuff Tech Yes, it would just take a little longer for the charger to charge as it is a higher capacity. Maggie Hi there… I replaced my solar garden batteries with new ones , because the old ones would not charge out side in the sun light anymore. I Use them in in strings of 50 small bulb fairy garden lights I ordered exactly the same batteries that were used in the solar panel for the lights, and they arrived uncharged.

My problem is, that although I have put them in a battery charger several times to fully charge, they do not hold their charge for long, and the lights will not work for more than a couple of nights. The bright sunlight does not seem to power them up again during the day light.

I have to keep taking them out of the panel to recharge every two to three days which is very annoying as the old batteries gave the lights life for about a year before they died.

Any ideas what I am doing wrong? Thank you so much … Maggie :. BatteryStuff Tech It sounds as if either the light conditions have changed where this string of lights are, or the battery capacity is not the same as before.

If the battery capacity is less than before that would mean there was less reserve for bad weather days, which would mean the batteries last less. Wanda Can NiMh batteries be replaced with alkaline batteries? Thanking you in advance. BatteryStuff Tech In the application, usually yes, but not in regards to charging. Admin It depends on your load, but it should increase you battery life significantly.

Elsa I just read your article and the questions and comments. I think you may have answered my problem, but my specifics are a little different so I thought I would ask.

The batteries seem to be in need of recharging. I have some Energizer rechargeable AA mAh 1. I also have a Sanyo Ni Mh recharger. I am recharging the Ni Mh batteries now, but can I use these higher mAh batteries in my solar lights? Will it harm the batteries or the recharger? I found a cheapish charger at the weekend but the charge is considerably higher … mah if i remember rightly.

Is it ok to buy? Could i also recharge the original spent batteries…. Maybe I should not have bought new batteries first.. Please help…. Could i have just recharged the old ones instead of buying new ones? Also, can the new ones be charged in a charger used for mah. Confused lol …Thankyou. Will this make any difference to them working and also am I better off fully charging the batteries beforehand like you mentioned above I think the answer is no to the seconfd question in this case!

Please help, Gary. BatteryStuff Tech It will make a difference. I would recommend charging them fully before use. Irfan can i use mah battery instead of mah battery recomd. Alan Great article, interesting read! Could you help with my question? I have just bought a second hand a snap on diagnostic scanner that has an 8. The scanner comes with its own built in trickle charger and a separate battery only trickle charger both of which share the same power lead adapter.

I noticed that this power lead adapter was not a snap on original but a Stontronics VE BatteryStuff Tech Alan, it could be. I would recommend contacting the manufacturer about this issue. BatteryStuff Tech Because they hold their voltage constant for so much of their discharge cycle, it would not be possible to do so. Lee I use a set of wireless headphones mhz. They came with Ma NiMh and they work fine. Switch back to orig. AAA and all is fine again. Any ideas? BatteryStuff Tech Sometimes there is a slight voltage difference between brands that can lead to some electronics working better on one brand than another.

Simon I have a 9. If I buy a charger that comes with a new mah battery pack, will that somehow hurt the toy truck? Am I right? Admin It depends on the charger. It would be best to ask the manufacturer of the charger this question, as it will be different from charger to charger. BArBF I got 15 solar pathlights and 12 of the batteries in them would not charge. They are located in bright bright sunlight. The original maH is These were cheapos but nice looking bulbs.

For the ones that DO work, what advantage would there be to replace with the maH? And would charging under indoor light be sort of the same as cycling the batteries on a charger? Can you OVER charge these batteries that way? BatteryStuff Tech You have to make sure the charger you use is compatible with nimh batteries, which will depend on the charger.

Al Can you leave a Ni-MH battery on the charger indefinitely without damage — i. BatteryStuff Tech It depends on the charger. That question would be best answered by the charger manufacturer. Samer an awesome article thanks man but i have a question ……..

JIm H. Question: Do Ni-MH batteries lose power — amperage like a car battery would? In other words, the voltage is 2. Effem Is it safe to use Ni-Cd battery charger to charge Ni-mh batteries? What are the precautions if I will do this? Another question: Can I charge different brands of AA Ni-mh batteries at one time in a 4-slots battery charger? Steve I have a radio that uses 4 AA batteries.

When I put alkaline or NiCad batteries in it works fine. I recently purchased NiMH batteries to use in it and charged them up. My multimeter says they have almost 1. It looks like there are no batteries in in at all. When I put the NiCad batteries with lower voltage and amperage readings back in it fires right up. Any thoughts as to why? Terry I was just reading through and I am no expert like some of the others here but it looks like your radio requires 1.

Kurt So I wonder if someone can help. I have a communicator for a helmet that runs on a NI-MH battery.
